20-Year-Old Korean Man Beaten in Sydney City Centre... Hit with Hammer

A 23-year-old Korean man was brutally attacked by a group of men in downtown Sydney while trying to assist his friends.

In Sydney's city center, a 23-year-old South Korean man was assaulted by a group of unknown individuals in the early hours of the morning on the 18th. The incident involved three Asian men, including the victim, who were attacked by another group of three men. A video of the attack posted on social media showed the assailants surrounding the Korean man and physically assaulting him, with one of them even using a hammer to strike the victim multiple times. The attackers fled the scene before the police arrived, prompting an investigation into the incident by local authorities.

The victim, identified as Mr. K, recounted the traumatic experience to the media, explaining that the attackers approached his friends unexpectedly, and in his attempt to help, he became the primary target of the assault. Health services attended to Mr. K and two other victims at the site of the attack. He later shared a post on his Instagram account, displaying images of his injuries and stating, "I almost died from the hammer blow; however, I do not hate Australia and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else."

Reports indicate that the assailants were described as Caucasian and Middle Eastern men, heightening concerns over issues related to violence and discrimination in public spaces. Authorities are actively pursuing the investigation to ensure justice for the victims and to address public safety concerns in the wake of this harrowing incident.
