Tejashwi lashes out at Maithili Thakur over her statement, says- as soon as becoming an MLA...

Tejashwi Yadav criticized BJP MLA Maithili Thakur for her comments in the assembly, claiming some newly elected politicians become overly knowledgeable about politics.

Tejashwi Yadav, the opposition leader and working president of the RJD, expressed strong disapproval of BJP MLA Maithili Thakur's recent statements made during the assembly session. He shared a photo of Thakur on social media without mentioning her by name, pointing out that some individuals, upon becoming MLAs, mistakenly believe they have gained a complete understanding of politics. This criticism comes in the wake of Thakur's remarks, which drew a controversial analogy between RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's affection for his younger son and the relationship of the characters Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana from the Mahabharata. Though she did not name anyone specifically, her comments seemed directed towards the RJD's ruling period prior to 2005 in Bihar.

In response to Thakur’s remarks, Tejashwi emphasized the importance of understanding the political dynamics and warned against belittling significant political figures, referring to them as 'Jan Nayak'. He vented his frustration on social media, criticizing newly elected MLAs who make audacious remarks without fully grasping their responsibilities. As part of his critique, he also highlighted serious social issues in Thakur’s constituency, particularly the recent case of the rape and murder of a Dalit girl in Darbhanga district, where he accused Thakur of remaining silent on the matter despite its gravity.

Tejashwi Yadav’s comments reflect broader concerns regarding the accountability of elected representatives and their engagement with pressing social issues. The exchange between him and Thakur underscores the ongoing political tensions between RJD and BJP in Bihar, especially as both parties navigate their narratives and legacies in the state’s political landscape. Such confrontations not only draw public attention but also serve as reminders of the challenges politicians face in addressing the needs and issues of their constituents while managing intra-party rivalries and public perceptions.
