The Republic Day parade brings traffic restrictions
Traffic will be restricted in Tallinn due to the preparations and execution of the Defense Forces parade on February 24.
On February 24, Tallinn will experience significant traffic restrictions due to the preparation and holding of the Republic Day parade organized by the Defense Forces. Vehicle traffic will be closed, and parking will be limited in Freedom Square and the surrounding streets. Additionally, a dress rehearsal for the event is scheduled for February 23, from 7 PM to midnight, where similar traffic limits will apply.
The next day, on February 23 and 24, the sidewalk on Falgi Road, adjacent to Toompea, will be closed to facilitate a ceremonial flag raising and the installation of screens for the event. Public transport will also be affected, with several bus lines rerouted starting from the afternoon of February 23 until the end of the day, and tram services on lines 3, 4, and 5 will be suspended during this period.
These traffic arrangements are part of the larger celebrations for Estonia's Republic Day, which mark the countryβs independence and proud heritage. The parade is a significant event that draws attention to Estoniaβs military capabilities and fosters national pride, necessitating careful planning and coordination to ensure public safety and smooth conduct of the celebrations.
