In a recent address to approximately 950 athletes in Meerut, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stated that the main goal of the RSS is not to achieve political power but to unite the entire Hindu society and strengthen nation-building through character development. Bhagwat clarified that the RSS is not interested in elevating its own name; instead, it aims to enhance the nation's reputation. He emphasized that the organization does not operate with motives of contestation, competition, or opposition, but is dedicated to the social unification of Hindus.
Bhagwat's speech, which lasted about 50 minutes, reflected on nearly a century of the RSS's history and called upon the youth to take an active role in nation-building. He stressed that the purpose of the RSS is not to act in opposition to any group but to promote social harmony. This message is particularly relevant in India's diverse socio-political landscape where unity among Hindus can be seen as a key element in addressing various social challenges.
