Janja and ministers flew on FAB for trip to Rio with visit to Acadêmicos de Niterói

First lady Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, flew on a military aircraft to Rio de Janeiro for a visit to a samba school's barracks, accompanied by two ministers.

In October, the first lady of Brazil, Rosângela da Silva, commonly referred to as Janja, took a flight on a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft to Rio de Janeiro. The agenda for her trip included a visit to the barracks of the Acadêmicos de Niterói samba school, which had honored President Lula during the Carnival. Despite inquiries, Janja did not comment on her trip until the article was published.

Alongside Janja were two ministers: Anielle Franco, responsible for Equality and Racial Affairs, and Luciana Santos, overseeing Science and Technology. Their trip was marked by both participation in the samba school's activities and attendance at an environmental event. After their visit to Acadêmicos de Niterói, the group went to the launch of the Ocean Decade Conference for 2027, where Janja represented COP as a special envoy.

Janja's flight included six advisers, including a photographer, highlighting the significance and possibly the promotional aspect of her visit. The group returned to Brasília later that same day on a different FAB flight, demonstrating the administration's engagement with cultural and environmental issues, particularly as they position themselves in relation to the upcoming major conferences on these topics.
