Trump responds to ruling on mutual tariffs by imposing a 10% customs duty worldwide

Donald Trump announced a 10% global tariff following a Supreme Court ruling against mutual tariffs, claiming more revenues from such measures.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, made headlines by declaring a 10% tariff on all countries soon after the federal Supreme Court ruled the mutual tariffs illegal. During a White House press conference on the 20th, Trump criticized the ruling, stating that those countries he accused of taking advantage of the U.S. would not be able to celebrate for long. The 10% tariff will be enacted via executive order under Trade Law Section 122, designed to alleviate serious international trade deficits, with an implementation window set for three days. Although the executive order allows tariffs for 150 days without Congress's approval, any extension would require legislative consent.
