During the Operation Carnival conducted by the Military Environmental Police (PMA) in Bataguassu, two truck drivers were fined for animal mistreatment after an inspection revealed the transport of horses without compliance with regulations. This operation was initiated following a report from the State Agency for Animal and Plant Health Defense (Iagro), which highlighted the illegal transportation of the animals.

The PMA officers intercepted two trucks that were found to be overloaded with horses, leading to the shocking discovery of one horse that had died during transport.
