Banco Master: CNJ demands explanations from the Paraíba Court of Justice about judicial deposits of R$ 2.6 billion to BRB

The National Justice Council (CNJ) has demanded that the Paraíba Court of Justice explain a judicial deposit of R$ 2.6 billion made to Banco BRB as part of an ongoing investigation.

The National Justice Council (CNJ), led by Minister Mauro Campbell Marques, has summoned the Paraíba Court of Justice (TJPB) to explain a sizeable judicial deposit of R$ 2.6 billion made to Banco BRB. This demand comes as part of a broader investigation into Banco Master and related financial dealings. TJPB has been given a deadline of 15 days to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the deposit.

In addition to the TJPB, four other courts from the states of Alagoas, Bahia, Maranhão, and the Federal District have also been requested to present justifications regarding similar deposits made at Banco BRB. Collectively, the judicial funds deposited in this bank could amount to as much as R$ 30 billion across all involved jurisdictions. These sums are typically held in trust by the judiciary pending the resolution of related legal disputes.

As the investigation continues, G1 reached out to TJPB for comments, but as of the last update, no response has been received. The implications of this situation are significant, as clarity on these funds is critical to maintaining public trust in the judicial system, and any irregularities could lead to serious consequences for the parties involved.
