Cameras record elderly man being assaulted by men in the interior of SP
An elderly man was assaulted by two men in Santa Adélia, SP, captured on security cameras during the attack.
On February 14, a shocking incident occurred in Santa Adélia, São Paulo, where a 60-year-old man was assaulted by two men, an event captured by security cameras. The footage shows the elderly victim walking down the street when a car approaches, and one of the occupants, who was sitting on the hood, exits the vehicle to start the attack with punches and kicks. Moments later, the driver also gets out of the car and joins in the assault, illustrating a brutal and unprovoked attack on the vulnerable individual.
The elderly victim, who has a diagnosis of schizophrenia, was treated for his injuries at the Hospital Padre Albino the same day of the attack, suffering from rib fractures and an eye injury. He was discharged on February 15 and has since been recovering at home, according to reports from his family. The nature of his diagnosis raises concerns about the vulnerability of individuals with mental health issues, particularly in instances of violence.
In the aftermath of the incident, the police have initiated an investigation. Although the report was filed days later, the police confirmed they have already accessed the surveillance footage and have opened a formal inquiry to determine the circumstances of the assault. As of the latest update, no arrests had been made, indicating an ongoing search for justice for the victim of this disturbing crime.
