The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee in Lagos State has successfully screened 540 candidates for various local government positions. This screening was part of the preparations for the Ward and Local Government Area Congresses that are scheduled to take place. Mr. Nungji Salama, the Chairman of the Screening Committee, emphasized the importance of the screening process for ensuring a smooth congress and thanked all stakeholders involved for their support.

In addressing the party members and stakeholders after a meeting in Ikeja, Salama described Lagos State as a leader in electoral processes and assured everyone of the committee's readiness to conduct the congress without disruptions. He underscored that the successful completion of the ward congresses laid a solid foundation for the upcoming Local Government Area congresses, highlighting their significance in the party's quest for effective governance.

The party continues to rally support for the candidates, encouraging them to serve the APC and the citizens. The planning and execution of these congresses reflect the party's commitment to democratic processes and good governance at the local level, as they prepare to embark on the electoral exercise, bolstering the party's grassroots structure and participation in governance across the 20 local government areas in Lagos.
