Video shows terrifying moment avalanche slams into passenger train near ski resort
A terrifying avalanche struck a passenger train in the Swiss Alps, as captured by a tourist's video, leaving passengers stranded for two hours.
On February 17, a dramatic avalanche descended upon a train traveling through the Swiss Alps near Zermatt, a popular ski resort in southern Switzerland's Valais canton. The incident was filmed by Kirsten Osborne, an Australian living in the U.K., who was onboard the train with fellow passengers at the time. As the massive wall of snow barreled down the mountainside, a child's voice in the video can be heard saying 'uh-oh!' multiple times, capturing the sudden sense of panic and disbelief among those present. The avalanche crashed into the train, engulfing it in a thick cloud of snow and causing the entire vehicle to shake violently.
