CNJ determines that the Justice of MT disclose data on overtime and daily payments to commission holders
The CNJ has mandated the Mato Grosso Court of Justice to disclose detailed information regarding overtime and daily payments made to commissioned positions since January 2023.
The National Justice Council (CNJ) of Brazil has ordered the Justice Court of Mato Grosso (TJMT) to provide detailed information about payments for overtime and daily allowances to individuals in commissioned and trust positions from January 2023 onwards. This ruling was part of a recent virtual trial concluded on Friday, where issues of transparency and accountability regarding public service payments were addressed. The decision was partially supported by Councilor Ulisses Rabaneda, highlighting a growing concern for fiscal transparency in public institutions.
The motion for this inquiry was filed by the Union of Judiciary Servants of Mato Grosso (Sinjusmat), which challenged the TJMT's refusal to provide necessary documents that validate these payments, such as authorization acts, summons for extraordinary service, and attendance records. Councilor Guilherme Feliciano, who reported on the case, indicated that the TJMT's refusal to disclose these documents constitutes a direct violation of principles underpinning the democratic state of law, emphasizing the necessity for accountability.
This decision underlines an increased focus on financial transparency within public sectors in Brazil, particularly concerning public servants' compensation. It sheds light on the need for judicial bodies to adhere to accountability standards, potentially influencing how public funds are managed and scrutinized in the future as the CNJ aims to ensure that the rights of taxpayers are protected through proper disclosure of public expenditure.
