The Association of Animal Protectors of Taquari (APAT) reported that local residents claimed Mofadinho had been stabbed, and his injuries were severe at the time of discovery, showing clear signs of necrosis. Medical attention was sought urgently, and the dog was admitted to a veterinary clinic where the staff was able to stabilize his condition, controlling the infection that had begun to set in. This situation has sparked significant concern in the community regarding the safety of animals and the need for vigilance against cruelty.

Detective Betina Martins Caum, who is leading the investigation, mentioned that the police are actively searching for footage of the incident as well as any information that may lead to identifying the perpetrator.
