The official anthem for the Meeting of Croatian Catholic Youth (SHKM) scheduled for May 2 and 3, 2026, in the Diocese of Požega has been released. Titled "I am the vine, you are the branches," this song was announced on the Diocese's social media and YouTube channel as a spiritual preparation for the upcoming event. The Diocese of Požega reported that this anthem is now accessible to both believers and youth, enhancing their engagement ahead of the meeting.
Inspired by the motto "I am the vine, you are the branches" (John 15:5), the anthem emphasizes a strong call to remain in communion with Christ and to foster connections among His followers. The central theme of the song encourages young people to stay rooted in their faith, which will yield abundant fruits of faith, hope, and love in their lives. This biblical reference serves as a reminder of the vital relationship between Jesus and His disciples, underpinning the spiritual objectives of the SHKM.
The lyrics of the anthem were penned by Marijan Pavelić, while the music was composed by Mario Brkić. The main vocals were performed by Stjepan Lach, and the production involved various musicians and collaborators, including Dalibor Marinković on drums and percussion, Robert Vrbančić on bass guitar, and others contributing with guitars. This collaborative effort highlights the youth's involvement and the communal spirit sought through the SHKM, fostering a sense of unity and purpose within the Croatian Catholic community.
