Dāle-Ševdāls brings another gold medal to Norway at the Olympic Games

Norwegian biathlete Johannes Dale-Shevdal won a gold medal in the mass start event at the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games, completing the race without missing any targets.

Norwegian athlete Johannes Dale-Shevdal secured a gold medal in the biathlon mass start event at the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games, achieving an impressive time of 39 minutes and 17.1 seconds. Dale-Shevdal showcased exceptional shooting precision by hitting all 20 targets throughout the race, effectively outpacing his competitors. His victory adds to Norway's strong performance in the biathlon events at these Olympics.

Trailing him in the race was his compatriot Sturla Holm Lægreid, who finished 10.5 seconds after Dale-Shevdal but made one shooting error. Lægreid's performance has been remarkable at these Olympic Games, where he has now medaled in all five biathlon events. Likewise, the competition was fierce, with French athlete Quentin Fillon Maillet claiming third place despite making four shooting mistakes, finishing 25.6 seconds behind the winner and adding a bronze medal to his collection of three golds.

The event featured a total of 30 biathletes, including strong contenders. Italian representative Tommaso Giacomel initially led the race but was forced to withdraw due to health issues after the second shooting stage. Unfortunately, none of the four Latvian biathletes qualified for this mass start event, marking a disappointment for the team as they aimed to compete on the Olympic stage at this significant event.
