Vebjørn Bjelland Berg sentenced after hunger strike

Vebjørn Bjelland Berg has been sentenced for refusing to comply with police orders during his hunger strike outside the Norwegian Parliament.

Vebjørn Bjelland Berg gained attention last autumn when he conducted a hunger strike for 41 days outside the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) to advocate for the phasing out of oil and gas in Norway. The protest, which resulted in him losing 23 kilograms, ended after the general elections, during which he faced legal repercussions for defying police orders. Despite multiple requests to dismantle his tent, he remained adamant, leading to fines and ultimately a court case in Oslo.
