A 39-year-old man was detained on Thursday, the 19th, in Resende, RJ, after being found with a motorcycle that had been cloned. The arrest occurred on the Via Dutra at the 313 km mark, where Federal Highway Police noticed the motorcycle showed signs of damage, loose fairings, and evidence of repainting.
Upon being stopped, the suspect claimed ownership of a rental property and suggested that a tenant had left the motorcycle behind. However, further investigation by the police revealed that the vehicle's identification marks had been altered, confirming its status as a cloned motorcycle.
The man and the motorcycle were taken to the Resende police station, where he is facing charges for altering the identification signal of a motor vehicle.
