Both the Trump and Biden administrations have sought to establish an agreement with Saudi Arabia to facilitate technology sharing related to nuclear energy, however, experts in non-proliferation caution that allowing any form of uranium enrichment on Saudi soil could inadvertently pave the way for the country to develop a nuclear weapons program. Notably, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has previously indicated that the kingdom might pursue nuclear arms if Iran successfully develops an atomic bomb.
