Twelve passengers are injured after van overturns on MG-423

A van with passengers overturned after colliding with a passenger car on MG-423, injuring twelve people.

A serious accident occurred on MG-423 near Conceição do Pará when a van overturned after hitting the rear of a passenger car. This incident took place on Thursday afternoon, leading to the injury of twelve individuals. Remarkably, there were no fatalities reported. Emergency services, including the Fire Department and Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), responded promptly to the scene to assist the victims.

Among the injured, a 39-year-old woman was reported to be conscious but extremely disoriented, with possible fractures in her left leg and collarbone. After initial treatment, she was transported to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) of Nova Serrana. Additionally, a 44-year-old man suffered a fracture in his right leg and a cut on the side of his head. He was also conscious and was taken to Hospital São José in Nova Serrana for further medical attention.

Another victim, a 36-year-old man, displayed signs of confusion and pain in the cervical region, with concerns of severe spinal injury. Following treatment and immobilization by emergency responders, he was admitted to the Red Room of the São João de Deus Health Complex in Divinópolis. This incident highlights the ongoing issues of road safety and the need for continued awareness surrounding traffic regulations in Brazil.
