Search initiated for two teenagers
Norwegian police have launched a search for two teenage boys on a trip by Femunden lake, in coordination with rescue services.
In Norway, authorities have commenced a search operation for two teenage boys who went on an outdoor adventure at Femunden lake in Innlandet. The police, working alongside the Main Rescue Center, reported that the boys are experienced in outdoor activities and well-equipped for extended periods in nature, though they have failed to communicate as planned. This led to heightened concern leading to the initiation of the search effort.
The locale of Femunden, known as Norwayβs third-largest lake, spans across the municipalities of Engerdal and RΓΈros. It holds the title of the highest major lake in Scandinavia, situated over 600 meters above sea level. The involvement of the Red Cross, which has deployed snowmobiles for the search, underscores the seriousness of the situation, despite authorities stating they are not overly alarmed.
The police have clarified that the search is being executed as a precautionary measure. While the boys are recognized for their capability to handle outdoor excursions, the lack of communication has raised some thresholds for concern, prompting a comprehensive search and rescue effort to ensure their safety.
