The Supreme Court ordered the state to implement a government decision regarding prayer at the Western Wall; Knesset members and ministers: We will overturn the ruling

Israeli ministers and Knesset members criticized the Supreme Court's ruling that requires the implementation of a government decision from 2017 to increase the mixed prayer area at the Western Wall.

On Thursday, Israel's Supreme Court ruled that the government must implement a decision made in 2017 to expand the mixed prayer area at the Western Wall, known as 'Ezrat Yisrael.' This ruling has ignited a significant backlash from coalition ministers and Knesset members, who have openly criticized the court's decision. The mixed prayer area has been closed since 2018 for safety reasons after a heavy stone fell from its walls. Despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's earlier assurances that the state would ensure the maintenance of this area, no action has been taken to address the safety concerns.
