An interim trade agreement between India and the US is set to be operational in April following the finalization of its legal text during a meeting in the US.
The commerce minister of India, Piyush Goel, announced that the interim trade deal between India and the United States will become operational in April. This announcement follows a significant tariff imposed by the US on Indian goods in August 2025, which led to months of negotiations that have finally culminated in this new agreement. The upcoming three-day meeting scheduled to begin on February 23 in the US will focus on finalizing the legal aspects of the agreement.
