Three individuals suspected of being involved in the murder of a rideshare driver, Dário José Rodrigues, aged 61, were arrested on Thursday, 19th. The incident occurred when Rodrigues went to meet a woman he had met online and was ambushed in the Tabuleiro dos Martins neighborhood of Maceió. According to the Civil Police, the suspects have confessed to committing the crime, which is categorized as homicide during a robbery, or latrocínio in Portuguese. Dário had been missing since the previous Sunday, 15th.
The police discovered a body, believed to be Dário's, on Thursday in a sugarcane field in the municipality of Rio Largo, located in the metropolitan region of Maceió. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, forensic examinations are necessary to confirm the identity of the body.
