Despite the importance of this spiritual practice, the ongoing political situation imposes significant challenges on how Palestinians can observe their faith and participate in communal prayers.

In Jerusalem, restrictions by Israeli authorities hinder Palestinians from the West Bank from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, with many locals facing barriers even within the city. This creates a disparity in access and spiritual fulfillment, as those living further away often risk dangerous travel simply to attend prayers, particularly Taraweeh, which can occur amidst a backdrop of tension and instability.

In the West Bank, fortunate individuals may live near mosques with beloved Imams, but the movement is fraught with danger due to Israeli incursions.
