Homemade Vodka and Smuggled Cigarettes Found During a Raid in Telšiai

According to the Telšiai County Police Headquarters, a woman, born in 1970, is suspected of selling substances with the specific smell of homemade vodka. During the police raid conducted at around 10:35 AM on Park Street, authorities seized two full 0.5-liter bottles, a full 3-liter plastic bottle, and partial contents from 3 and 5-liter containers, all containing the vodka-smelling liquid. Additionally, 14 packages of smuggled cigarettes, not marked with the official Lithuanian tax stamps, were also found at the scene.
The suspect was not detained at the time of the raid; instead, she has been instructed to report to the police station for further questioning. The authorities have initiated a preliminary investigation regarding the illegal production, storage, transport, or sale of homemade strong alcoholic beverages, including both denatured and undenatured ethyl alcohol and their mixtures.
