Weather in Bavaria: One more winter dream – but it won’t last long

Temperatures in Bavaria are set to rise over the weekend, with highs reaching up to 15 degrees Celsius, but this will lead to a transition from snow to rain across the region.

Over the weekend, Bavaria is expected to experience a rise in temperatures, with forecasts suggesting highs of up to 15 degrees Celsius by Sunday, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). However, this warming trend brings with it the inevitable transition from snow to rain, as temperatures rise significantly across the free state.

Currently, snowfall is retreating to the Alps, and areas in the eastern and northern parts of Bavaria may enjoy a relatively pleasant day with intermittent sunshine. However, weather patterns will shift as clouds move in from the west, bringing with them the first signs of rainfall. Maximum temperatures for the day are predicted to range between 1 to 5 degrees Celsius.

As the night approaches, the chances of increased rainfall grow, particularly affecting the eastern low mountain ranges where snowfall could still occur even at lower altitudes. The DWD has warned of potential slipperiness and glaze ice conditions, urging residents to exercise caution.
