Airtel's big announcement, 'unlimited' internet will be available to these users

Airtel has announced unlimited data for all its postpaid plans across the country.

Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom operator, has expanded its unlimited data offering to all postpaid plans nationwide, previously available only in select circles. As part of the effort to improve its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), the company aims to encourage consumers to switch from prepaid to postpaid plans through attractive offers. The reported unlimited data comes with a cap of 300GB for a 30-day period, starting from a base plan of ₹449, which also includes benefits like unlimited calls and 100 daily SMS messages.

The ₹449 postpaid plan provides users with 50GB of data and other benefits, such as an additional 100GB of cloud storage under Google One, indicating Airtel’s strategy to enhance user experience while catering to the needs of a digital consumer base. With the ongoing competition in the telecom landscape, this announcement could reformulate market dynamics, especially among users presently on prepaid plans who might consider migrating to postpaid options for increased value and utility.

Airtel's initiative reflects the broader trend in the Indian telecom sector towards offering more flexible and attractive plans, aiming to retain current customers while attracting new ones. By providing unlimited data, Airtel not only enhances its service appeal but also aligns itself strategically amidst fierce competition from rivals, ensuring it remains a relevant choice for consumers seeking value in their telecom services.
