Ekspress Group increased revenue and subscriber numbers last year
Ekspress Grupp reported a five percent increase in revenue and a seven percent rise in digital subscriptions in 2025, despite a drop in net profit due to one-off costs.
Ekspress Grupp, the Estonian media group, achieved a notable five percent increase in sales revenue in 2025, posting a total revenue of 80.2 million euros compared to the previous year. Digital subscriptions contributed significantly to this growth, rising by seven percent amid the company's investments in sectors such as conference business, ticket sales, and digital outdoor advertising. However, despite this revenue growth, the company's net profit fell to one million euros, primarily attributed to one-off expenses.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, the group experienced a slight revenue increase of 0.4 million euros, marking a growth of two percent compared to the same period a year prior, resulting in a total of 23.9 million euros for the quarter. The growth trajectory reflects not only the group's strategic investments but also highlights challenges faced due to a broader downturn in the business environment across the Baltic region, which impacted advertising revenue, leading to a decrease of seven percent over the year.
Liina Liiv, the newly appointed CEO of Ekspress Grupp, emphasized the need for adaptability in navigating the shifting landscape of the media industry. The group's focus on digital transformation and diversification of revenue sources demonstrates a proactive approach to mitigate the economic challenges reflected in the advertising market. Overall, while the increase in subscriptions and revenue is promising, Ekspress Grupp must continue to innovate amid a competitive and fluctuating market.
