'We are not with Avimukteshwaranand, but with Yogi', Akhara Parishad speaks on Shankaracharya controversy
The Akhara Parishad has publicly denounced Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand's allegations against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, asserting its support for the government amid ongoing disputes over the treatment of students and the declaration of cow as the national mother.
The National President of the Akhara Parishad, Ravindra Puri Maharaj, has taken a strong stance against Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand during the Kalika Mahotsav's establishment day in Sambhal. He criticized Avimukteshwaranand's announcement to march to Lucknow on March 11 and condemned his comments about Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Puri Maharaj emphasized that no Akhara or major saint council stands with Avimukteshwaranand in this dispute, which has emerged amidst demands for recognizing the cow as the national mother and grievances regarding the treatment of students known as 'Batuks'.
