An Austrian court in Innsbruck has convicted a 37-year-old climber of negligent homicide following the tragic death of his girlfriend, who succumbed to hypothermia while they were attempting to summit Grossglockner, Austria's highest peak. The court imposed a conditional five-month prison sentence on the man for gross negligence, emphasizing that he left his girlfriend in a perilous state, unprotected and exhausted, during a storm.
