Leones FC qualifies the FEF's actions as 'incredible' for not processing the registration of several of its players for the Ecuabet League
Leones FC criticized the Ecuadorian Football Federation for failing to register many of its foreign players ahead of their debut in the Ecuabet League 2026.
Leones Fútbol Club has publicly expressed its frustration regarding the Ecuadorian Football Federation's (FEF) failure to register a significant number of its foreign players for the upcoming debut in Liga Ecuabet 2026. The club, newly promoted to the league, is scheduled to play against Macará on February 22, and without the proper registrations, the team faces a challenging start to the season.
In an official statement, Leones FC highlighted that it submitted the necessary requests for International Transfer Certificates (CTI) through the Transfer Matching System (TMS) on February 13, adhering to all regulatory requirements. The club categorized the FEF's inaction as 'insólito' or incredible, emphasizing how the delays have made it nearly impossible to finalize the registration of their crucial player reinforcements.
The situation raises significant concerns about the efficiency and responsiveness of the FEF, especially in light of the league's imminent start. Without resolution, Leones FC's ability to compete effectively in their first match could be severely compromised, pointing to a larger issue regarding the handling of player registrations and the operational integrity of football management in Ecuador.
