On Wednesday, a man was attacked following an argument with a shop owner in the city center of São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo. The victim displayed significant hemorrhaging from his right arm after being repeatedly struck with an object resembling a sickle during the altercation. Attempting to escape the situation, he reportedly collided with a glass door, which shattered upon impact.
Municipal Civil Guard agents responded to the scene after receiving notifications about the incident. They found the injured man sitting at the intersection of XV de Novembro and Jorge Tibiriçá streets, visibly distressed with severe bleeding. The guards provided immediate emergency assistance to control the bleeding and called for the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), who arrived to find the victim showing signs of fainting due to the severity of his injuries.
