Thessaloniki: Traffic disruption on a section of the eastern internal ring road
Temporary traffic regulations will be in effect in Thessaloniki from tonight until early Friday morning due to roadworks.
In Thessaloniki, Greece, temporary traffic regulations will be implemented tonight starting at 10:15 PM and lasting until 5 AM Friday on the eastern internal ring road. This disruption will affect the direction towards the east, specifically between interchanges K6 (Meteoron) and K8 (Triandria). The local Traffic Department has announced that all vehicle traffic will be halted, and diversions will be necessary from the exit branch to Neapolis - Meteoron.
As part of these changes, traffic will be redirected through urban areas, and vehicles will be allowed back onto the Eastern Internal Ring Road at the Triandria interchange (K8). Additionally, entry branches towards the Eastern Internal Ring Road from Neapolis, Eptapyrgiou, and Agios Pavlos will also be blocked during this period. The Traffic Department is urging drivers to exercise caution and adhere to the signage to avoid accidents.
This traffic disruption is part of ongoing infrastructure works in Thessaloniki aimed at improving the flow of vehicles and enhancing road safety. It reflects the city's efforts to manage traffic effectively, especially during peak hours, and to inform drivers in advance to minimize inconvenience. With potential delays expected, commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and stay updated on local traffic updates throughout the roadwork period.
