Another streaming service increases its prices – here is the new pricing

SkyShowtime announces a price increase for its streaming service in Finland effective February 24, impacting both new and existing subscribers.

SkyShowtime, the popular streaming service, has announced that it will be raising its subscription prices in Finland, with new pricing taking effect on February 24. This change will primarily affect new subscribers immediately, while existing subscribers will see the price change upon their renewal period. The increase will see prices rise by as much as 2 euros per month, particularly for Premium subscribers whose monthly fees will jump from 12.99 euros to 14.99 euros.

The adjusted pricing structure includes several tiers: for ad-supported subscriptions, the price will increase from 4.99 euros to 5.99 euros per month; standard subscriptions will rise from 8.99 euros to 9.99 euros per month; and promotional offers will also see slight increases. For instance, a special campaign offering half-price subscriptions will rise from 4.49 euros to 4.99 euros per month. Customers who subscribed through app stores will be notified directly by those providers about the upcoming price changes.

This price adjustment comes at a time when streaming service costs are typically on the rise, as companies seek to cover increasing operational expenditures. Consumers who do not agree to the new price points will have the option to cancel their subscriptions. This move by SkyShowtime reflects broader trends in the streaming market where price elasticity and competition among services continue to play pivotal roles in customer retention and satisfaction.
