Etnogrupa "Tautumeitas" celebrates its 11th anniversary amid nominations for the prestigious GAMMA music awards and reflects on their experiences over the past year.
On February 19, during a live broadcast on TVNET, the nominees for the annual GAMMA music awards were announced, among them the ethnographic group "Tautumeitas," which received four nominations. During the event, uplifting conversations took place with musicians, celebrating the achievements of the past year, including participating in Eurovision, releasing a new album, and holding concerts.
Asnate Rancāne, a member of "Tautumeitas," shared the joy of the group reaching its 11-year milestone in the music scene. She mentioned that the past year has been filled with significant events that provided the perfect opportunity for the group to celebrate their anniversary. "We wanted to celebrate and we celebrated," she expressed with a smile, highlighting the importance of taking a moment to relax after their busy schedule.
The group received nominations in several categories at the GAMMA awards, including Group of the Year, Hit of the Year for the song "Bur man laimi," Artist of the Year in the Folk genre, and Live Performance/Concert of the Year. The recognitions underscore the group's impact on the music landscape in Latvia, showcasing their growth and popularity over the years, as well as the vibrant culture of Latvian folk music that they represent.
