Aniruddha Das, a senior consular officer from India in Bangladesh, announced that India will soon resume all visa services, which had been impacted by the political turmoil earlier this year. Currently, India is issuing medical and double-entry visas while taking steps to restart other visa categories including travel visas.

The strained relations that developed around July-August 2024, amid political protests and the fall of the Awami League government, had created a tense atmosphere between the two countries. Aniruddha emphasized that the India-Bangladesh relationship is built on mutual respect and dignity, highlighting the historical and cultural ties that bind the two nations.
