VIDEO: Mare is killed in accident and car roof is destroyed in MG; driver escapes injury
A mare was killed in an accident in Rubelita, Brazil, after being struck by a car, causing extensive damage to the vehicle, though the driver was unharmed.
In a tragic accident on the MGC-342 highway in Rubelita, located in Northern Minas Gerais, a mare was killed after being struck by a car. The impact was so severe that the animal was thrown against the vehicle, leading to significant damage to the car's roof. The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, the 18th, and a video showing the aftermath has been circulating on social media, highlighting the extent of the destruction.
According to local military police, the driver was traveling from Rubelita to Salinas when the mare unexpectedly crossed the road, leaving no opportunity for the driver to avoid the collision. Fortunately, the driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, emerged from the ordeal uninjured. Authorities confirmed that the mare did not have any identification marks, and efforts were made to locate its owner without success after the accident.
Following the incident, the mare's body was removed with assistance from municipal employees. Authorities conducted an alcohol test on the driver, who was found to be sober, and confirmed that the car's documentation was in order. The vehicle was subsequently retrieved by an insurance company. This incident raises concerns about animal safety on roads, particularly in rural areas where such accidents can occur more frequently.
