Germany's industrial sector has shown signs of resurgence, with order levels improving for the fifth consecutive month in December. The volume of open orders rose by 1.2% compared to the previous month, according to data released by the Federal Statistical Office. This brings the order books to a level that has not been seen since October 2022, marking a significant recovery in the industry. In comparison to the same month last year, there was a notable increase of 7.0%. Furthermore, the backlog of orders is now projected to last 8.2 months—its highest since the statistics began in 2015, indicating a healthy demand for production.
