These insights have been published by the Football Observatory of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES). This outstanding achievement highlights both Gordon's athleticism and his pivotal role in competitive football.

Following Gordon is his teammate, the Swedish player Anthony Elanga, who recorded a top speed of 36.65 kilometers per hour, just narrowly trailing Gordon. Additionally, Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, a standout player for Paris Saint-Germain, secured the third position. Notably, Hakimi is the only Arab player among the top ten speedsters, which features a majority from the English Premier League and two notable players from Real Madrid, including Kylian Mbappe.
