She secured her place in the record books by winning her first Olympic gold in the mixed relay for a distance of 2000 meters and adding a silver medal in the women's 500 meters. On the same day, she further solidified her legacy with a silver in the women's team relay in the 3000 meters short track event, contributing to her overall tally of medals.
Fontana's team, which also included Elisa Confortola, Chiara Betti, and Arianna Sighel, advanced to the finals with the second-best time from the semifinals but ultimately secured a silver medal after an impressive race. The gold went to the South Korean team, featuring skaters such as Choi Min-jeong and Kim Gil-li. Canada emerged with the bronze, showcasing the intensified competition in this Olympic series.
