The Fair Saves the Hockey Stadium

Ignazio La Russa, the President of the Senate, urges the preservation of the hockey stadium at Rho Fiera for Milan's future use post-Olympics.

Ignazio La Russa, the President of the Senate, has renewed his appeal to Giovanni Bozzetti, the president of the Fair Foundation, to ensure that the newly constructed hockey stadium at Rho Fiera remains available for the city of Milan even after the Olympics. He regards this as a wonderful gift to the city and its hockey aficionados, as Milan has lacked such infrastructure for many years. This appeal highlights the stadium's importance as a community asset, rather than merely a temporary facility for the Olympics.

La Russa previously inspected the 'Ice Park' alongside Bozzetti, where two large pavilions were combined to create this new facility. He emphasized that this project represents a zero-cost legacy for the state since the Fair is the only entity involved that hasn’t received any government subsidies. The stadium, which could host concerts and indoor events for 30,000 to 40,000 spectators, symbolizes a significant advancement in Milan's sports infrastructure.

In addition, Bozzetti revealed that plans are underway to study the feasibility of constructing a new sports hall within the fairgrounds, which would provide an alternative to the Ice Park. However, this project may require more time to develop. These discussions and proposals reflect a broader initiative to enhance Milan's sporting facilities and events in light of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games.
