This latest victory was secured by Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, renowned as the most decorated athlete in Winter Olympic history, who won his fifth gold medal of the Olympics and tenth in his career alongside teammate Einar Hædegaard in the men's team sprint event of cross-country skiing. While Norway leads, Chinese athletes also celebrated their first two gold medals, contributing to a diverse medal table with Sweden, France, Japan, the USA, South Korea, and Canada each securing at least one gold as well.
