Passo Fundo, located in the North of Rio Grande do Sul, is preparing to welcome the tallest residential building in the state, scheduled for completion on February 28. The impressive structure stands at 140 meters high and features 40 floors, symbolizing a substantial upturn in the real estate market in the city, where there are currently 6,708 apartments under construction. This development has been a significant undertaking, involving roughly one thousand professionals over a span of four and a half years since the construction commenced in 2021.

The building will host 34 apartments, each occupying an entire floor, with a private area of 200 square meters. According to Cristiano Basso, the CEO of the company behind the project, engineering this tall structure posed unique challenges. Notably, he pointed out that being the tallest building in the state brought varying perceptions from the community, with some skepticism but a strong majority supporting the venture. The height of the building required special attention to engineering logistics, especially due to concerns about wind effects on such a tall structure.

Basso elaborated on the logistical challenges posed by constructing a high-rise building, emphasizing the impact of wind on the design and execution phases.
