Jorma Pulkkinen Became a Widower – Made a Tough Decision
86-year-old Jorma Pulkkinen, a well-known television personality and motorsport enthusiast, shares his experience of adjusting to life after losing his wife, Anna-Liisa, and his decision to move to a new home.
Jorma Pulkkinen, an 86-year-old television personality and motorsport figure from Finland, recently faced a significant turning point in his life after the death of his long-time wife, Anna-Liisa, last October. After 64 years of marriage and nearly 70 years together, the loss was profound, prompting Jorma to reflect on their life and the memories they shared. He recounted how he saw his wife one last time before she peacefully passed away in the early morning hours, and the emotional weight of this moment influenced his next steps.
Following Anna-Liisa's passing, Jorma made the decision to sell their home in Kaivokselasta, where they had lived for two decades and which held many cherished memories. He wanted a fresh start, free from old belongings and reminders that lingered in the house, opting to recycle their possessions. Jorma has since found a new rental apartment in Kilosta, which provides him with a small terrace to enjoy outdoors and a reasonable rent of 850 euros, presenting an opportunity to create new memories while also honoring his past.
As Jorma settles into his new home, he plans to bring along beloved items and photographs that will keep Anna-Liisa's spirit alive within him. Although he faces the challenges of adjusting to life as a widower, he finds comfort in the memories they created together and the hope of emotional healing through this next chapter of his life.
