The incident began as a street argument when João Anderson Pinheiro dos Santos was fatally wounded by a knife. He was transported to a hospital for medical assistance but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The assailant, identified as Madson do Espírito Santo, was subsequently pursued by relatives of the first victim. In a retaliatory act, Madson was also stabbed and died from his injuries. In the wake of these violent events, law enforcement has detained one suspect connected to Madson's death, while investigations continue to locate three other relatives of João Anderson, believed to be implicated in the altercation.
Investigators are currently reviewing cellphone footage that captured the chaotic moments of the fight. The series of violent incidents during a festive occasion underscores the need for improved security and public safety measures during large gatherings, particularly in areas prone to conflict, as the local police department undertakes an inquiry into both homicides.
