Man arrested after stealing wires and sleeping on the roof of a house due to 'pleasant weather'

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Presidente Prudente, Brazil, after stealing electrical wiring and subsequently falling asleep on the roof of a house due to the pleasant weather.

In Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, a 40-year-old man was apprehended by the police after attempting to steal electrical wiring from a residence in the Jardim Bela Daria neighborhood. The incident occurred during the early hours of Wednesday, when the homeowner was alerted to unusual noises coming from the roof. When the police arrived, they discovered that roof tiles had been removed, enabling the suspect to access the attic where he had hidden following the burglary attempt.

Upon searching the property, officers found the suspect hiding inside the structure with a bag that contained a kitchen knife and pliers, tools likely intended for the theft of the wires. The police noted that approximately two kilograms of electrical wiring had already been cut and removed. As the suspect tried to evade capture by jumping to a neighboring house, he was apprehended by the police who had cordoned off the area.

During interrogration, the man confessed to stealing the electrical wires and explained that he had taken a break to rest on the roof due to the good weather. This unusual blend of burglary and seeking comfort on a rooftop has drawn public attention and raises questions about the motivations and circumstances that can lead individuals to commit such crimes in an otherwise peaceful environment.
