A five-month-old baby in Jaguariúna, Brazil, has been hospitalized due to fever and vomiting after being assaulted by her mother's ex-boyfriend, although it is not confirmed if the health issues are related to the assault.
In Jaguariúna, São Paulo, a five-month-old girl who was assaulted by her mother's ex-boyfriend has been hospitalized after experiencing fever and vomiting. The Guardianship Council, which has been monitoring the case since the incident, highlighted that the baby had been discharged from the hospital after an evaluation but was brought back just hours later due to new health complications.
The council reported that the baby had been treated at the Municipal Hospital Walter Ferrari, where she was cleared for discharge and sent home with her grandmother. Unfortunately, she developed a fever and vomiting during the night on Wednesday, prompting her mother to take her back to the hospital. Following this, the baby underwent a physical examination at the Mogi Guaçu Medical Institute, accompanied by her mother and healthcare professionals, and remains hospitalized for further observation and care.
The perpetrator, who was caught assaulting the baby on video recorded by the mother during a video call, was detained by authorities immediately after the incident came to light. This case raises serious concerns regarding domestic violence and child safety, highlighting the need for comprehensive support systems for vulnerable families in Brazil.
