Warm Weather After the Holiday: Large Temperature Difference Around 15 Degrees

The weather forecast predicts a cold morning with temperatures in the sub-zero range, but warmer conditions will develop later in the day, leading to significant temperature swings.

On Thursday, February 19, the weather across South Korea is expected to remain cold during the morning with many areas experiencing temperatures in the negative range. The Korea Meteorological Administration has reported that while the country will have generally clear skies, the morning temperatures will hover around sub-zero, particularly in inland areas where it could drop to approximately -5 degrees Celsius. Dry weather warnings have also been in effect, especially in the southeastern regions.

As the day progresses, temperatures are projected to rise significantly with afternoon highs varying between 5 to 13 degrees Celsius, depending on the region. Notably, Seoul will see a 7-degree high, while the coastal areas such as Busan and Jeju will have milder temperatures reaching up to 12 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively. Health precautions are recommended due to the expected temperature range differences of over 15 degrees between day and night in the inland regions of the Gyeongsang province.

In addition, the air quality is anticipated to remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels across the country, minimizing health concerns associated with air pollution. The Meteorological Administration cautions residents to take fire safety seriously, especially as the dry conditions in certain areas increase the risk of wildfires or other types of fire hazards.
