The Mexican Baseball League plans to adopt an Automated Ball-Strike System for the 2026 season to align with Major League Baseball.
The Mexican Baseball League (LMB) is preparing to modernize its officiating by planning the introduction of an Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS), commonly referred to as the 'robot umpire,' for the 2026 season. President Horacio de la Vega announced that this initiative aims to bring the LMB in line with Major League Baseball (MLB) standards. The technology, which has been trialed in MLB, allows for a more accurate strike zone determination and potentially faster game flow by reducing human error in officiating.
