She is beautiful! Pumas presented Goya as the club's new mascot

The UNAM Pumas Club introduced Goya as their new mascot during a press conference, following a community contest for her design.

This Wednesday, the UNAM Pumas held a press conference to unveil Goya, the club's new mascot who will represent both the men's and women's teams alongside Goyo. The decision to create a new mascot stemmed from a desire to engage the community, particularly university members, in contributing to the club's identity.

The development of Goya involved a competition inviting members of the university community to propose designs, which resulted in around 50 different submissions. A panel of judges from within the university ultimately selected Raúl Alejandro González Reyes, a design graduate from FES Acatlán, as the designer of Goya. This initiative highlights the Pumas' commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and participation within the university and its sports teams.

The introduction of Goya is not just a branding strategy but also a reflection of the club's aim to support and promote its women's team on equal footing with the men's team. The presence of Goya at matches promises to enhance the game day experience, embodying the spirit and unity of the university community.
